Last year I was asked to submit three photos of my dolls for possible inclusion in a book called “500 Handmade Dolls.” As the title suggest, it is an art book that showcases 500 of the best dolls from artists across the globe.
Today I received my acceptance letter. 2 of the 3 images were accepted: Doctor Scops and the dark haired albino, Darla.

The book will be out in the Fall and I will, of course, let everyone know as soon as it hits the shelves (providing I don’t get canned at the last minute – at which point I will pretend I never made this post).
In other news – Strychnin’s NYC gallery is having a doll show in September! Hooray! The idea is neat. They are constructing a child’s room and it is up to us to fill it …. the idea is to present that moment when the parent’s leave, the door closes and everything comes to life.
I was also asked to submit work for the grand opening of the Harold Golen Gallery in Miami. For the grand opening they will have work by Ron English, Eric Joyner and Isabel Samaras. Eric Joyner’s work makes me giggle.
I will provide reception details when I have them.
My apt is full of half-made little people and now Halloween is on my mind. If there is a “Halloween doll” you would like to see, let me know. Corpse paint and black cats are on the books.

That is freakin’ fabulous. Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy!
That’s fantastic news! Congratulations.
Can’t wait to see the show here in NYC in September….I love the concept.
