Wood Is Art

Rob Hitzig is a fine artist in Montpelier, Vermont. He and his wife own The Lazy Pear Gallery – which is adored by so many of us who are fatigued by the redundancy of the gallery circuit in Vermont. Lazy Pear is just… different. And that could only be because the owners are so creative and talented themselves.

Rob has started a new blog called, appropriately enough: Wood is ART. The blog documents the process of creating work, from concept to completion and focuses on giving you a real behind-the-scenes look at how his work is created. Which, believe me, I’ve seen his workspace (which is really nice BTW), seen some pieces in progress, and pieces completed and I still don’t know how he creates such beautiful pieces. But I guess that is the mark of the artist.
