I always considered polymer clay to be the rock star of dollmaking however, once I started working with it and discovering how fragile it is, I desperately sought ways to create strength, and one of those ways is with epoxie clay, or any 2 part resin. I often use it to create the arms and legs of my dolls. I now only use polymer clay for the hands and faces really.
I always thought of those resins as almost like an armature really, just a basic tool in sculpting that was hardly worth mentioning. But I’m glad that I have started to list it as an ingredient in my dollmaking because I was contacted several months ago about having my work included in a gallery page for the book “Inspired Remnants, Curious Dreams” by Kerin Gale.
Kerin Gale is a mixed media artist who uses found objects in her work. In her new book and on her website she shares her art and project ideas for working with epoxy clay and using it in any mixed media projects. I’m honored to be included in the book!
