I took a break from sharing my art movie of the month because I ran into a few lame ones and quite frankly, I’ve been working so much that as soon as I get still (like sitting down to watch a movie) I fall asleep. But this one is a goody!
The beginning starts with: “Everybody knows that a fairy tale starts out ‘Once upon a time,’ but a truck driver’s tale starts out, ‘You ain’t going to believe this s@#t.” and then follows a potty mouthed truck driver as she tries to validate a Jackson Pollock painting she bought at a yard sale for $5. It is a fun ride between the low brow and the high brow. Believe it or not, the painting is still for sale.
I couldn’t find a trailer to share but you can find it on Netflix
The crappy ones I mentioned before were Destricted (which I rented because Matthew Barney has a short in it) and ARTS: A Film About Possibilities…(because seeing The GIMP Project perform was so inspiring).
