Last year Bruce and his assistant spent a week in my studio shooting the process of creating my Strange Dolls and interviewing me about my work and creative process. This has been a long time coming but here is the final cut of the mini documentary. Thanks to Cabin 46 for this look into my world.

This is fantastic! Not only is it an insightful look at you and your work, it is beautifully and professionally made. Beautiful cinematography, great timing, editing, music, restraint — giving us just enough to savor.
Really nice.
Wow, what a fabulous film. The texture, music, and sensibility are all perfect, and it is so great to see your hands at work!
Wow, this is an area I have never looked at, doll making and especially strange dolls. I saw the vid went for over 4mins and thought I will glance at the start, but is was captivated and have watched it twice now

Thanks so much to WordPress for featuring my blog and to everyone that clicked the link! I hope to hear from you all again. Welcome to the world of Strange Dolls!
I think you’re right about us not thinking about what other people think about our work as artists (in general). Unique dolls!
Wow – certainly not your grandmother’s baby doll!
Some people in my town are big on making sock monkeys. One vendor instead made voodoo doll bunnies in the same style. I’ll see if I can find a picture to show you.

Poor dolls. They look like they need healing and comfort, a Resurrection. You’re an extremely gifted artist. I hope the Light of God shines on you today.
I make unusual works of art as well. Glad I’m not alone. I hope I can buy one of your dolls one day.

Is she an artist? I am not familiar.
When I first started making my dolls I wanted to create a name for them and spent quite a long time trying to come up with a name that would fit most perfectly. Thanks for the nice feedback.
I have many dolls for sale, Holly. All of my available dolls are here: http://strangedolls.net/available_dolls.html
I hope so too. 🙂
You’re welcome! 🙂
nice
This is pretty creepy. I never had a love for dolls. They really creep me out.
I’m a big fan of dolls in general, and I absolutely love these. They provoke reactions, unlike many modern dolls. Considering buying one of them for my collection! 🙂
wow, they are really strange
Does it get creepy walking around your studio space at night with all those little faces watching?! I once worked overnight on a department store floor, and having all the mannequins watching over what we were doing was just weird. I can only imagine little faces would be even creepier.
you are an amazing artist. good work keep it up.
inspirational, in many ways.
I absolutely love your collection!
Oh, the myriad shapes of creativity~
I love your work! You’ve got great imagination! Amazing shape, texture, and color……..the facial expression of your dolls are enchanting (for me)
